AMDSB Traditional Land-Based Learning Summer Camp

The AMDSB, in partnership with Indigenous Education Student Support Advisor Matt Baker, offered Indigenous students (grades 8-12) the chance to participate in Traditional Land-Based Learning Opportunities this summer.

The students participated in;

  • Outdoor and Land-Based Learning: Enjoying the outdoors, engaging in traditional cultural practices and teachings.
  • Skill Development: Plant identification, tracking, bushcraft, drum making, beading, jewellery construction, leather work, fire making, flintknapping, and more!
  • Expert Guidance: Gained knowledge from guest Knowledge Carriers and Indigenous instructors.
