Tuesday, April 1st was a proud day for the Stratford District Secondary School (SDSS) Symphonic Band as they were awarded Gold at the B400 level at the Golden Horseshoe Music Festival!
According to Director Kelsey Regier, the students have been pushing themselves with challenging repertoire and this was long awaited after their original festival date was postponed in February due to weather.
Jasmine Powell was deservedly awarded the Student Leadership Award for her dedication to running music council, the jazz combo, and her alto saxophone section. She exemplifies a passion for her music that inspires our younger students.
Director Regier commends the entire ensemble for their commitment and hard work while recognizing the leadership senior students have displayed throughout the year to make this accomplishment happen. The SDSS music program looks forward to many more performances and days like this one.
Congratulations!
