Every Voice Poetry Contest: 2025/26 - Calling all young writers! Stratford’s Poet Laureate, along with Destination Stratford and the Stratford Public Library, is launching the first Every Voice Poetry Contest. Open to youth ages 8–18 across Perth County, this contest is your chance to share your creativity and have your voice heard. Winners will be featured in a published anthology and celebrated at an award ceremony in April for National Poetry Month. Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2025.
House of Commons Page Program (2026–2027) - Each year, 40 bilingual students from high schools and CEGEPs across Canada are selected to work on the floor of the House of Commons, gaining hands-on experience with parliamentary procedures and traditions. Application period: September 29 – November 9, 2025. Requirements: Submit a résumé (max 2 pages) via the House of Commons career portal. Eligible applicants must be starting post-secondary studies in September 2026 at select Ottawa-area institutions and be willing to reside in the National Capital Region during their Page year.

SLY Program - Huron County Economic Development Board’s Supporting Local Youth Program offers grants of up to $1,000 for youth-led initiatives and activities that provide opportunities for Huron County youth between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age in the following priority areas: Social Cohesion, Community Connectedness, Creative Expression, Social Justice Issues, Climate Change and Sustainability, Mental Health, Financial Literacy and/or New Economic Activities. Applications will be assessed and awarded on a merit basis. Funding applications are due by 4:30 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by email no later than Friday, November 21, 2025.
