Criteria for Inclusion on this Page
Materials for distribution must:
- Comply with all AMDSB policies and procedures. For full details about the distribution of materials from outside organizations, please see AP 116 (Distribution of Materials from Outside Organizations).
- Comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code (be respectful of all faiths, races and ethnic backgrounds).
- Be of educational or cultural benefit to students, support curriculum or extra-curricular activities for students.
- Be received electronically (submissions can be made to [email protected]).
- Be as accessible as possible to comply with AODA requirements.
Preference will be given to materials from non-profit, charitable organizations in Huron and Perth Counties.
Activities and Camps (Summer, PA Day) for Students
March Break Camp at the Huron County Museum - The Huron County Museum will be running Lights, Camera, History, a March Break Camp taking place March 16-20 from 9:00am-4:00pm. The camp is open to children 5-10, and registration costs $150, or $130 for Museum members.
March Break Programming at the Huron County Library
Playmakers! Summer Theatre Camps - Ready for a summer of creativity, character building, and collaboration? Playmakers! offers week-long theatre programs for ages 6-16, focusing on the joy of storytelling in a supportive, high-energy environment. Whether your child is exploring musical theatre or building confidence through improvisation or digging into Shakespeare, these camps provide a space for every camper to find their voice through acting, singing, and dance. Camp Menesetung - Located in Goderich, this summer camp offers both day and overnight programs for youth ages 5 to 15 from July through late August. Each week features a unique theme, such as Sports Week or Beginners’ Week, and includes a variety of exciting activities like a climbing wall, a low ropes course, and water sports facilities. Campers receive three meals and three snacks each day.
Discovery Healthcare Camp - Open to students entering Grades 9–12, this camp is led by medical students from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. Activities at this camp include casting and suturing workshops, first aid and emergency response training, and healthcare career exploration. The camp runs from July 13–17, 2026, at HPHA Stratford General Hospital. The cost is $325.99 + tax, with bursaries available to students based on financial need.
Belwood Lodge & Camp - This summer camp, located in Belwood, ON, is for youth aged 7+, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities. Both overnight and day camp options are available, with sessions running in July and August. Registration is now open for Summer 2026.

NextStrat - A free after-school and weekend youth space is opening on the second floor of the Agriplex (353 McCarthy Rd, Stratford). Open weekdays from 3–9 PM and on weekends, this new space will feature a fully equipped esports lounge with 20 gaming PCs and Nintendo Switch consoles.

Extracurricular Activities
Beyond the Feed Youth Conference (March 22, 2026) - Ripple Foundation invites students in grades 8–12 to Beyond the Feed, a free virtual conference on March 22, 2026, from 12–4:00 pm. This virtual gathering explores how social media shapes daily life, from shaping identity and online culture to influencing what we see, share, and create.
Spring Theatre Programs at Playmakers! - Registration is now open for Playmakers!’ 8-week spring sessions beginning March 24. These programs provide a supportive and creative space for kids to build confidence and develop their acting skills. Class Act (Ages 6–7) introduces young performers to theatre through acting, movement, and singing, as they rehearse a scripted folktale to share with an invited audience. The cost is $325 for 8 classes. Come Out & PLAY! (Ages 8–12) helps students build performance skills and confidence through improvisation, ensemble games, and collaborative scene work. Teens Takeover Night at the Huron County Library (March 27, 2026) - Visit the Seaforth Branch (108 Main St. S., Seaforth, ON) of the Huron County Library on March 27 from 5:00–7:00 pm for an evening of board games, karaoke, crafts, prizes, snacks, and pizza. This event is designed for ages 12–16, but ages 10–11 may join with parental permission. This is a drop-in program, but registration is appreciated.
Huron Perth Flag Football - Registration is open for the Huron Perth co-ed flag football league for youth ages 6–17. No experience is required, teams will practice before games. Saturday mornings from May 2 to June 27th in Exeter. Registration closes April 1, 2026.
Elma Minor Soccer - Registration is currently open for the 2026 soccer season. Visit elmaminorsoccer.ca for details. Registration closes April 1, 2026.
TAYke Off! Cooking - L’Arche Stratford will be running a TAYke Off! Cooking program Fridays from April 10 to May 1, at 9:30-11:30 am. The goal of this program is to help participants become confident in preparing a sloppy joe recipe. Each week, participants will use the same recipe, allowing them to build their skills and knowledge through repetition until they can prepare the meal more independently. This program is designed for individuals aged 16–35 who are comfortable participating in a group setting with a 1:4 support ratio. The registration cost is $100.
Kids' Electrical Safety Drawing Contest - Festival Hydro is hosting a drawing contest for students in Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6 across Huron County and Perth County. The theme, “Stay Back from Power Lines – Stay Safe!,” encourages children to create artwork on an 8.5 x 11” paper that promotes electrical safety awareness. Winners will receive a prize, public recognition, and their drawing will be featured in Festival Hydro’s electrical safety materials. The deadline to enter is April 15, 2026.
Colouring Contest - In honour of National Oral Health Month, the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association is hosting its annual Attack the Plaque kids’ colouring contest. Winners will receive a Toys R Us gift card and a kids’ oral health prize pack. The colour page can be downloaded here. The deadline to enter is May 1, 2026.
Youth Badminton (Free) - Drop in Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30PM at the Listowel District Secondary School. Ages 13-17.
New Special Olympics Bowling Program in Huron - A fun and inclusive program for athletes ages 4 to 99 is starting this September at the Zurich Bowling Lanes. The program runs weekly from September to April, with doors opening at 6:00 PM. The cost is $10 per week per athlete, which includes shoe rental and two games. Free Virtual Tutoring & Homework Help - Parents of Black Children is offering free 25-minute drop-in sessions inside the Omo Africentric Virtual Campus (“The O”), Monday–Thursday, 4:00–7:00 pm. (Mon & Wed: Grades K–12, all subjects and Tue & Thu: Grades K–8, all subjects). Supportive, affirming academic help for students in all subjects.

EQAO Literacy Session for Families Webinar: Focus on Writing (March 25, 2026, at 12:00 pm) - Join EQAO for a free live webinar about how EQAO assesses students’ writing skills at key stages of their education. Learn how assessments reflect classroom learning and discover resources to support your child’s writing at home.
Proud Community Project Workshop (March 26, 2026, at 7:00pm) - Hosted by Stratford-Perth Pride, this workshop is designed to help bridge the gap between the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the broader community. This workshop will provide local organizations with an opportunity to learn more about the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience in our rural communities and explore how everyone can work together to increase inclusion and belonging. Huron Tractor Job Fair (March 21, 2026) - Visit Huron Tractor Exeter (39995 Harvest Road, Exeter) from 9-11:00 am for a job fair for students interested in exploring careers, part-time employment, summer jobs, or co-op opportunities in the agricultural equipment industry. Learn about the John Deere Ag Tech Apprenticeship Program, career paths in Parts, Sales, and Service Technician roles, and participate in on-the-spot interviews (Students interested in employment or co-op are encouraged to bring a resume).
The Huron Perth District WI Education Award - The Huron Perth District WI will award one $500 Education Award to a graduating high school student living in Huron or Perth County who is entering their first year of full-time post-secondary studies or an apprenticeship. Applicants must submit a minimum 500-word essay on: “How would you entice young people to work in Huron or Perth County after graduating from post-secondary education?” Community involvement will also be considered. The recipient will be invited to receive their award at the Huron Perth District WI Annual Meeting on May 27, 2026, at the Howick Community Centre. The application deadline is March 30, 2026.
Kids Write 4 Kids Writing Contest - If you’re in Grades 4–8 and have a story to tell, this is your chance to shine. Hosted by Ripple Foundation, a 100% volunteer-run Canadian charity, Kids Write 4 Kids is more than just a writing contest. Winning stories are professionally published in print and digital formats and made available worldwide. Even better? Proceeds from book sales are donated to the winner’s chosen charity, so your creativity makes a real difference. Submission Deadline: March 31, 2026.
Vanessa Palmer Award - Friends of Hullett will award one $500 honorarium cheque to a student exhibiting an awareness of the environment through achievement or contribution. This award is ideally suited for someone starting a post-secondary education next year in any type of environmental studies. Candidates are required to submit a letter to the Friends of Hullett by email ([email protected]), stating their environmental achievements and/or contributions, and must include one reference contact to validate their achievements and contributions. Deadline to apply: April 10, 2026.
Future Veterinarian Bursaries - The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) is offering three $1,000 bursaries for the 2025–26 school year. These bursaries support equity-deserving Ontario high school students—Indigenous students, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority groups, and/or immigrants—who show financial need and a passion for veterinary medicine. 2026 OHF Scholarship Program - The OHF Scholarship Program is open to students involved in organized hockey within Ontario who are planning to attend a Canadian post-secondary institution. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, hockey involvement, community engagement, and personal reflection and leadership. To apply, applicants must submit a 500 word personal essay, provide one academic reference, one hockey reference, and provide a copy of their most recent school transcript. Deadline: May 8, 2026.
Professional Engineers Ontario Chapter Scholarship Program - Professional Engineers Ontario is accepting applications for its Chapter Scholarship Program. This program awards 36 scholarships valued at $1500 to Grade 12 students entering a Post-Secondary Engineering program (accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board). Deadline: June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Employment Services at the West Perth Public Library - Visit the library on the last Thursday of the month from 1:00 - 4:30 pm to get resume writing assistance, support for retraining, career coaching, and more.
Ontario Register or Future Voters - Maintained by Elections Canada, the Ontario Register of Future Voters is designed for eligible 16 and 17 year olds so that they will automatically be added to the voters list when they turn 18.
